Profile: Amanda has worked in Family Justice in a variety of roles for over 12 years. She has been a full time McKenzie Friend since 2012 and deals mainly with Children Act Applications. She has experience of Public Law (Care) work, but mainly deals with Private Law cases. She mostly supports non-resident parents she will support resident parents who seek to make workable, meaningful arrangements for their children with the other parent, or who have genuine safeguarding concerns for their children.
Amanda has a great deal of experience of dealing with Parental Alienation and cases with high levels of hostility, and has experience of the whole range of hearing types – including Fact Finding, lengthy Final Hearings and Leave to Remove applications. Amanda formally worked for reunite Child Abduction Centre and so has experience and knowledge of cases with an international element. Whilst Amanda doesn't seek Rights of Audience automatically, she has been granted them when necessary and has undertaken Cross Examination on a number of occasions.
Amanda is based in the Midlands, near Leicester but has dealt with cases throughout the UK, including the Channel Islands and is happy to travel for cases.
Amanda gives much advice for free, charging fees for direct work, and court attendance. She has a friendly, approachable nature and adopts a supportive approach to the role.
