Profile: Karen has a BA Degree in Sociology and has helped both individuals and organisations function in the development, policy-making and welfare within society.
She has a strong legal background in Civil Court procedures, studying the New Civil Procedure Rules, under Lord Woolf, whose main concerns were cost, delay and complexity, and strongly believes in alternative dispute resolution and mediation, together with the implementing of the ADR’s as part of the County and High Court procedures.
Karen is founder of Legal Minded Friends who’s aim is helping with information on legal issues, to negotiate settlements, or helping you through the process of taking a claim to court or being on the defending end of a Legal Action.
Karen can assist you, as a McKenzie Friend in court, ensuring you are provided with the confidence you need to achieve the aim of having a fair hearing. She has negotiated, settlements, avoiding attendance at court, or having the court agree to jointly agreed conditions by way of an Order.
Service and Support
Karen has worked with the Youth Offending Service where she disseminated legislation to Youth Offending Teams, to lower offending behaviour. She developed administrating systems in close relationships with Social Workers, Police Authority and Courts. She helped develop communications with other agencies by implementing a national rollout procedure to sharing information between agencies to enhance performance and deliver a better service.
Karen understands the issues families face when going through separation or divorce, or the sleepless nights individuals have when in debt and being threatened with Bankruptcy Proceedings, or those individuals who commit offences with regret and is here to help.
“People often say, I wish I would have known about your services before it got this far. My aim is to help you through whatever legal issue you are going through, and provide you with the assurance that you can take control back and make decisions that are right for you, without the high cost of solicitor fees.” Karen
