Service and Support

Gerald’s university research was associated with domestic violence and abuse, with particular reference to male victims.

It is no surprise that he is also a founding member of Men Have Rights Too, a charity offering help and support for men and their families who are in, or have been in, an abusive or violent relationship and don't know where to turn for help and advice.

Gerald is keen to develop a network of McKenzie Friends, and wants to work with like-minded people to try to improve the services available for male victims.

What really matters is that someone needs help. Domestic Violence is the crime, not being a male.

Profile: Gerald studied at the University of East London and has a BSc (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling.

In addition to being a McKenzie Friend Gerald has studied a variety of different therapies and has been trained to analyse clients’ who present issues using a range of approaches which enables a greater depth of understanding.

Gerald is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and therefore abides by their code of conduct and ethics.

Gerald has a private practice in Truro.  He has experience of working with alcohol addiction, depression, phobias, bereavement, domestic abuse and violence, trauma, and people with general mental health problems and has continued his professional training to completed the advanced McKenzie Friend training course in London with Simon Walland Family Law.

When life seems all of a jumble, everything whirring around in your mind, when unhelpful thoughts keep you awake at night, it may be helpful to talk to a counsellor.
